"Wheels Up" Longboarding Photo Contest Guidelines

Show us your early grabs, your G-Turns, your artsy board-in-a-tree shots, your sick-nasty launch ramp steeze, your shralptastic big spin, your signature Tail Whip, or whatever else you come up with. As long as the photo contains at least two wheels in the air, you're good. Ok, now let's get onto the guidelines!

R U L E S
Post your photos of longboards with at least two wheels in the air! That's it. That's the rulez. (Please Note: Boards in the background do not count toward the two wheel minimum, but we've got a lot of "Art Kids" around here who may be able to vouch for you if your photo is rad and is "supposed to be like that". That being said, just try to keep the wheels-in-the-air as the subject of the shot.)

We want to see you bringing the steeze and cheese in a safe manner. We are selecting the photos that we like, and we happen to like helmets. Helmets protect our brains from impact, explosions, and pterodactyls. Please, wear a helmet. We have many friends who have been seriously injured in longboarding accidents and if it weren't for their helmets they wouldn't be around today. (If you're submitting a non-action shot such as a scenery, holding the board in the air, etc. a helmet is less necessary. We'll be the judge of when it's appropriate or not, so you might as well just wear one all the time.)

We're not looking for photos that you found on the internet, we want you to get out and take them! Only post photos that you have the rights to. If you didn't take the picture, you must (a) be the rider in the photo or (b) have permission from the photographer. 

This contest is open to residents of the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia.

S U B M I S S I O N
Submit your photos to the wall at Facebook.com/MuirSkate and if we're impressed, you've got yourself a shot at the prize(s). Can't decide between your favorites? Feel free to submit as many photos as you want. It'll help spread the stoke and give you more chances to get picked! Be sure to have your photos up by September 24th at 9pm PST so we don't overlook them when we're making the final cut.

W I N N I N G
Two winners will be selected: One will be selected by the MuirSkate crew. Another will be selected by voting from the MuirSkate Facebook community through the "Like"-based voting system we've all come to know and love.

"Muir's Choice" Winner will receive a complete Earthwing SuperGlider Longboard Skateboard.

"The Fans' Choice" Winner will receive a Loaded Fat Tail Longboard Skateboard Deck.

V O T I N G
The Muir crew will pick a handful of photos (Somewhere around 10-15) that impress us the most and voting will be tallied through a dedicated Facebook Album on the MuirSkate.com Fan Page. Muir's Choice will also be determined at this time, and will not be added to the voting album.

D E A D L I N E S
Photos will be selected by the Muir crew on September 24th at 9pm PST and the voting album will be up shortly after that. Voting will continue until 9pm PST on September 30th and the winners will be announced after we've finished skating at the "Heavy Metal Hard Core" event on October 1st.

R E M E M B E R
By posting your photo to our Fan Page, you're basically waving your arms up and down and saying "Yes. I would like to be entered into the contest and I have read all the guidelines."
